Community Hospital is a Private, Not-For-Profit, acute care hospital.
It is the mission of Community Hospital to be the healthcare provider of choice for the communities
we serve. Our vision is to be valued and respected for quality healthcare provided
by professional and caring individuals.
Message from the CEO:
Community Hospital's mission, To be the healthcare provider of choice
for the communities we serve explains what our hospital is about. We strive to work
with the resources available to identify and provide services that our communities
desire. This booklet of information is being provided to show what we currently
offer at Community Hospital. We continually look for ways to better serve our communities
by improving our current services or offering new services, if feasible.
Fairfax Community Hospital opened on November 7th, 1949 and was renamed Community
Hospital Association in 1975. Our 50th anniversary celebration kicked off a new
era of providing care to our communities. We received the designation of being a
Critical Access Hospital in 2000. This designation comes from a program that Medicare
put into place to help small rural hospitals continue to be able to provide care
in rural communities. Although the public notices very little change with the Critical
Access status, Community Hospital receives better payment from Medicare. This allows
us to stay competitive with our employee needs and purchase up-to-date technology.
We welcome your ideas on how we can do a better job in providing services, as well
as your thoughts about new services you would like to see at Community Hospital.
