Dustin Carpenter M.D. to Join Mound City Family Medicine August 2014

Dustin Carpenter M.D. will be making a life-long dream come true this August when he joins the CH-F Medical Staff and begins seeing patients in the Community Hospital-Fairfax Primary Care Clinic in Mound City.

“I have lived in many places across the U.S. and even abroad, but Northwest Missouri has always been my home. It was my dream to come back here.” commented Carpenter.

Dr. Carpenter was born and raised in Rock Port, Mo, as the son of Chuck and Jan Carpenter. He graduated from Rock Port High School in 1999 and will complete is family medicine residency at the University of Nebraska in June of 2014. He was married in 2012 to his wife Annie, a Registered Nurse. He has a unique perspective on family medicine as the grandson of longtime northwest Missouri physician, Wallace Carpenter M.D.

Carpenter explains, “Growing up, I was exposed at a very young age to family medicine in a rural area. I was able to observe the impact my grandfather had on my community both as a physician and a person. I can’t think of a better person to emulate. Grandpa assures me that I don’t have to fill his shoes, but he can’t stop me from trying.”

Dr. Carpenter will be seeing patients in the Mound City Primary Care Clinic located at 514 State Street beginning August 4, 2014. Dr. Carpenter is passionate about family medicine and has plans to provide the full scope of primary care including obstetrics.  Having availability for patients to see him is also important to Dr. Carpenter. He plans to dedicate several appointment times a day for acute illnesses to ensure his patients can be seen in the timeliest manner possible.

Being a part of the community is a priority for Dr. Carpenter. He is anxious to attend sporting events and be a sideline presence for young athletes. He also plans to take in a few Royals games and cheer on the Missouri Tigers and Kansas City Chiefs as soon as he returns to Missouri.

The community will have an opportunity to welcome Dr. Carpenter at receptions held at the hospital and at his new clinic in Mound City in July.
