Roger Steinkruger recently announced his retirement as CEO of Community Hospital-Fairfax (CH-F) effective December 31, 2018. Roger came to CH-F in August of 2014 as an interim CEO and in December of the same year accepted a permanent position.
Roger’s accomplishments as CEO are many. In 2015, CH-F was accredited for quality by DNV-GL. And in 2018, the hospital was the first in Missouri to be certified for ISO-9001 Quality Management System. Equally significant was recognition received in 2016 as a meaningful user of the electronic health record by attesting to the standards set forth by Meaningful Use Stage 2. In 2017, the organization joined an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) to focus efforts on population health.
Roger’s era as CEO also ushered in a period of growth for Community Hospital-Fairfax. Primary care clinics opened in Mound City, Oregon, Burlington Junction and Fairfax and clinics (Rock Port and Tarkio) formerly owned by Dr. Aron and Joanna Burke merged with the hospital’s operation. The addition of Senior Life Solutions, expansion of rehabilitation services and the first knee joint replacement were celebrated under Roger’s tenure.
On Wednesday, November 28, 2018, the Board of Directors simultaneously accepted Roger’s resignation and appointed Julie Jones, CNO, as the new CEO of Community Hospital-Fairfax effective January 1, 2019.
Julie Jones, RN BSN MBA, brings more than twenty years of executive leadership to the organization. Prior to joining CH-F in November of 2015 as the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Julie served as CNO/Patient Services Coordinator at Beatrice Hospital and Health Center. As CNO at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Julie has had direct responsibility for all clinical operations in the hospital and has played a significant part in recent growth initiatives including the orthopedic joint replacement program. Julie has served as Overseer for the Missouri Quality Award for 14 years and is a Certified Master Baldridge Examiner. She brings a vast amount of experience in quality, performance improvement and patient satisfaction to Community Hospital-Fairfax.
“I have been honored to work with Roger and watch the impact he has made on many lives during his time at Community Hospital-Fairfax. I am equally enthusiastic to work with Julie Jones as the new CEO. Julie has a strong commitment to quality and patient satisfaction and I am confident that under her leadership, Community Hospital-Fairfax will continue to thrive” shared Board President, Robert Jackson.
