Why Give?
When it became evident to members of the local community
that a hospital was going to be needed to keep physicians, Atchison County began
actively planning to build a hospital. Financing and location plagued the project
until a group of dedicated individuals, members of the Fairfax Kiwanis public affairs
committee, became determined to raise funds for a new hospital in Fairfax. This
club, headed by L.R. Sims, F.C. Whitford and Jack Pearce, raised $185,000 for construction.
The doors opened on November 7, 1949.
Since the very beginning, Community Hospital-Fairfax has been blessed to have a
supportive and committed community who has helped purchase new equipment, aided
the hospital in hard times and helped the hospital expand when needed. Community
Hospital-Fairfax is truly blessed to be a part of this generous family.
We ask you to give because

Annual Giving
Each year, Community Hospital-Fairfax sponsors an Annual Appeal in December and
January. This is an opportunity for community members to make an annual pledge to
support ongoing needs of the hospital. Annual giving can be any amount.
Watch your mailbox for more information about the Annual Appeal each December and
January or contact the Development
Office
to make an annual commitment to support healthcare in your community.
Honors and Memorials
Have you been touched by someone and want to honor that individual? Has someone
close to you recently passed away? These
are reasons you may want to consider honoring an individual through a contribution
to Community Hospital-Fairfax. When you make a gift in someone’s
honor or memory, the honoree will receive a letter acknowledging your thoughtful
gift. These gifts serve as comfort in times of sorrow or provide gratitude to someone
who has touched your life. The memorial or honorarium will be used to help
others to have quality of life through the purchase of equipment directly involved
in patient care.
To make a gift in memory or in honor, simply enclose your gift in an envelope and
send to Community Hospital-Fairfax, PO Box 107, Fairfax, MO
64446 with a note designating the honoree. The Development Office will immediately
notify the honoree or next of kin.
Planned Giving
Community Hospital-Fairfax is proud to accept charitable gifts from those that have
chosen to remember the hospital in their will. Please consult your attorney and
tell him or her exactly what you want to do. Planned gifts have been very meaningful
in the history of Community Hospital-Fairfax and we are proud to honor the memories
of individuals who have chosen to help us care for others through their gift.
Investing in
Our Healthy Future Capital Campaign
Our campaign, Investing in Our Healthy Future,
seeks to raise $1.5 million in support of a new hospital located just outside of
Fairfax. Funds raised from the campaign
will support construction of our new Emergency Services Department.
We were so excited to reach our goal in June of 2009, but that does not mean
that you cannot still be part of this exciting time in the history of healthcare
in northwest Missouri. We encourage you to find out more about this campaign and
the naming recognition opportunities inside the new hospital. Construction is due
to be complete in September 2010 so contact us for more information about
