  • The doors of "Fairfax Community Hospital" opened for the first time November 7, 1949.
  • In 1975, the hospital was renamed Community Hospital Association.
  • The hospital's name changed again in 2007, representing a return to its roots. Community Hospital-Fairfax was given a new logo, also.
  • Community Hospital-Fairfax is a not-for-profit hospital. It receives no funding from taxes and is supported thought community gifting and paid medical services.
  • It is the largest employer in both Atchison and Holt counties, with 120 staff members.
  • The hospital is the primary healthcare giver for Atchison and Holt counties and parts of Nodaway County.
  • Community Hospital-Fairfax operates Holt County Outpatient Services, offering physical, occupational and speech therapies and diabetes education.It also provides home health visits to those who are unable to make hospital or clinic visits.
  • On July 18 2008, the hospital's board members broke ground for a new facility at a special ceremony. Over 200 people celebrated this new era of CH-F history as Leo A. Daly and Kiewit Building Group unveiled pictures and renderings of the new hospital.
  • On June 30, 2009, Community Hospital-Fairfax's capital campaign, Investing In Our Healthy Future, surpassed its fundraising goal of $1.5 million for the new hospital.
  • Community Hospital-Fairfax plans to open its doors to the new facility in September, 2010.
  • In 2008, Community Hospital-Fairfax handled 2,972 emergency room visits, delivered 55 babies, performed 202 surgeries, made 1,414 Home Health visits and conducted over 4,500 physical, occupational and speech therapy sessions.
