Inpatient hospital services are due and payable at the time of your discharge, unless you have provided Community Hospital-Fairfax staff with information on applicable insurance coverage. If you do not have insurance, a representative of the Business Office will contact you during your staff to make payment arrangements. Your bill will include only the services and supplies rendered by Community Hospital-Fairfax. Any physicians providing services to you, including radiologists and pathologists, will bill you seperately.
Payment is due for outpatient services at the time services are rendered unless you have applicable insurance coverage. With accurate insurance information the hospital will file your claim to your insurance company for you.
Although your insurance is a private contract between you and your insurance company, the hospital is happy to file claims for you. In order to do this, we need the follwoing information:
- Name of your insurance company
- Policy holder's name and policy number
- For group policies, the name and address of the employers. This information is best provided with a copy of your insurance card, wish you will be asked to provide upon registration. At the time you are admitted, you will be asked to assign your insurance benefits to the hospital unless you plan to pay your bill in full when you are dismissed.
If your insurance does not provide 100% coverage, you will receive a statement from Community Hospital-Fairfax for any unpaid balanced. Detailed bills are available upon request only.
Medicare patients are financially responsible for any deductibles and co-insurance applicable to the services they receive. Medicare does not cover self-administrable drugs given in the outpatient setting.
All uninsured patients, upon request, will be extended a discount off charges if payment is made in full within 30 days of the first billing date. Community Hospital-Fairfax also offers a charitable healthcare discount for services provided to patietns needing financial assistance. Please ask our Patient Accounts staff regarding eligibility for a Charity Care discount.
