Community Hospital -Fairfax Auxiliary
The Community Hospital-Fairfax Auxiliary takes
pride in their projects and holds the hospital,
its employees and patients close to their hearts.
The group has about
60 members from around
Northwest Missouri. They volunteer for many
functions including medical screenings, fundraisers
and even judging at the employees’ annual
Halloween costume contest. The Auxiliary’s biggest
ongoing project is the hospital’s Sunshine Corner
Gift Shop. Open Monday through Friday, the gift
shop carries everything from home décor to cards
for all occasions and necessities for patients staying
away from home. The Auxiliary uses the proceeds
from the Sunshine Corner Gift Shop to purchase
equipment and other needs for the hospital.

Scholarships-Twice a year, the Community
Hospital-Fairfax Auxiliary awards a student in a health-related educational program with a scholarship.
Each year, a Community Hospital-Fairfax nurse who is continuing her education is awarded a nurse’s
scholarship through the Auxiliary.
Tray Favors: Once a month, a group of Auxiliary members create tray favors that are placed on patients’
food trays during their stay. The ladies choose fun, cheerful and festive decorations.
Memorial Angel Christmas Tree: Every holiday season, a special Christmas tree is decorated with angels.
The angels are purchased by individuals who want to honor loved ones to remember them during the
holidays. The angels are taken home and in their place, the tree is decorated with the names of people
being remembered by their family and friends.
